MILESTONES ACHIEVED
ITDWC had proposed to Tamilnadu government on the formation of unorganised sector welfare board for the truck and general commercial truck drivers.
In the 2019 parliament election ITDWC had enforced the National and State political parties to include the 11 demands of truck drivers in their Election demand kept before the government. Met political leaders of important party and played excellent role in including the demands of truckers in their Election manifesto.
The Indian Truck Drivers Welfare Consortium had requested the election commission to provide leave with wages for the truck drivers to vote in the parliament and 15 state election conducted. As a result the election commission declared leave with wage for the truck drivers.
Indian Truck Drivers Welfare Consortium had identified the parking areas and resting places in the all around the national highways are not properly maintained and not in the condition to be used by the truck drivers. The identified status of the parking areas with proofs were submitted to the national road safety ministry and State Highway department as a result all the parking and resting areas rest rooms were renovated and maintenance done regularly.
ITDWC plays vital role in protecting the truck drivers from police on violating the law and attacking the truck drivers. Legal action were taken against the police on violating the law and harassing the truck drivers without no reason.
Eye check up conducted for the truck drivers in which about 2500 truck drivers tested their eyes and got prevented from road accident.
ITDWC had emphasized the National and State Government to provide compulsory accident insurance for the truck drivers who are more vulnerable to fire accidents.
It has emphasized to provide opportunity for the representatives of truck drivers to be member of State and District road safety committee as a result of it representative of truck drivers had become the members in State and District road safety committee.
During the COVID 19 pandemic lockdown the truckers had provided the service by supplying the basic amenities, food, life saving oxygen, medicines etc to the public in the loops and corners all around the nation without thinking and caring about their personal life.
ITDWC is the first and foremost organization which has created toll free number for the truckers in around Asia.
Around 50 drivers had been transformed from driver to owner through the effective support of ITDWC.
Conducted periodical health camps for the drivers.
Provided EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE to children of truck drivers.
Laisoned with Road transport industry and National Highway authority of India in establishing proper ROADSIDE AMENITIES like restrooms, hospitals & Driver Seva Kendra for drivers.
Organized various Road safety programs for the truck drivers.
Provided RELIEF materials for drivers in the case of emergencies like natural calamities or disasters.
HELP RAISE PUBLIC VOICE AND OPINION regarding Road Transportation to the apex powers. ENGAGE AND NEGOTIATE with Government & other stakeholders in the issues affecting the drivers like trade, unwanted police caught, National permit, carrier act, motor vehicle act, warehousing policy, logistics and transport policy.
Periodic interaction between members through seminars, workshop, meeting and social functions.
Represent India at the Annual general meeting cum conference of International Road Union (IRU)
